As the Blaxhall Commons and Open Spaces Community Trust moves into its second year we would like to thank everyone in Blaxhall for their support and encouragement during 2016.

Our goal of taking the Commons and Open Spaces in Blaxhall into shared ownership is very much a marathon and not a sprint, so we hope you will stick with us as we move forward steadily, but not necessarily as quickly as we would all prefer.

In 2017 we have 4 litter picks planned to keep our village looking neat and tidy. The dates are :- 1st April – 10 am, 8th April – 10am, 7th October – 10am and 14th April – 10am – please see our website for full details -

We are looking for people to help organise these events so please feel free to volunteer by contacting us on-

The Blaxhall Common and Open Spaces Community Trust have commissioned the Suffolk Wildlife Trust to do an environmental audit of our commons and open spaces. This work is underway and we are planning to present back the findings at our Annual General Meeting on the afternoon on Saturday the 1st of April 2017.

So if you fancy a good day out in Blaxhall, come and help with the little pick in the morning, pop into the Ship Inn for lunch and then come and show everyone your successful haul of cans, bottles, and discarded bric-a-brac found in our hedges and roadsides in the afternoon at the Blaxhall Commons Trust - AGM

After our first year of being up and running, we are saying a very sad goodbye to one of our Founding Members – Steve Smedley. Steve was fundamental in getting us to where we are now, and we are hugely thankful for all his hard work. Thank you Steve. You will be very much missed.

We are looking for someone with huge boots to replace Steve and we are asking everyone in Blaxhall to consider putting themselves forward to be a new Trustee. To be a Trustee the main requirements for the role are:- Enthusiasm, Commitment, some Spare Time, the ability to engage with people, and a long and abiding love of everything that we value about Blaxhall. If in addition you know anything about running a Charitable Trust, Fund Raising, Grant Application, Managing Volunteers plus Land Acquisition and Management these would all be a bonus.

The final decision to appoint a new Trustee lies with the existing Trustees, however we would encourage everyone to express their interest by e-mailing-, or look at our website for information about our existing Trustees and our aims and objectives:-
